INNOVATION SHOWCASE DETAILS
The 2025 symposium will provide an opportunity for producers, processors and input suppliers to showcase their innovation. The showcase is designed to encourage and celebrate innovative practices across the dairy sector in South Africa and where possible, their contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In this context, innovation is defined as a process that promotes efficiency.
The entries for the SASDT innovation showcase will open from January to 31 March 2025. A showcase reel of all the entries will be developed and displayed at a designated time during the symposium in May 2025.

WHO CAN ENTER
Entry is open to all SASDT members and non-member individuals, including dairy farmers, dairy processors, as well as service and equipment companies for the dairy sector.
ENTRY COST
- Entry is free for SASDT members.
- Entry for non-members is R600 per entry or R400 per multiple entries.
CRITERIA AND ELIGIBILITY
- You cannot put forward more than three entries into a given category.
- You cannot put forward the same project into more than one category.
BENEFITS OF ENTERING THE SASDT INNOVATION SHOWCASE
The SASDT Dairy Innovation Showcase demonstrates the engagement and dynamism of the dairy industry locally, offering a platform to showcase new innovators and their contribution to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The showcase offers a great opportunity to:
- Gain recognition for your innovative and sustainable industry practices.
- Help reinforce your position in the local and global dairy community, including the International Dairy Federation.
- Build awareness of your operations, engaging consumers and other industry stakeholders.
- Share the news of your success with a dedicated announcement across the SASDT social media platforms.
- Exposure on the SASDT platforms post-symposium.
ENTRY PROCESS
There are two stages of the entry process
- Click on the entry form and follow the instructions.
- Also indicate if you are a member or a non-member.
- Once we have received your application, a member of the SASDT committee will be in touch to share the entry questionnaire with you for completion and offer support with your submission.
For each category entry, you will be required to:
- Complete an entry questionnaire, explaining the value of your innovation.
- Share two high-resolution product or project images.
- Share a video of max 1 minute long, summarising your project for the showcase presentation.
